A corner of the interweb devoted to emergency medicine education, with occasional digressions into my other passions. Dogmata are omnipresent in medicine and life, but I’m not actually dogmatic in my approach to either. (I do ride a dogma bike though…) As an emergency physician I aim rather to employ and teach flexible resourceful clinical reasoning and problem solving. My career path has now led me to private emergency medicine at Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne, having spent the last decade at a tertiary public hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner, in Perth. Much of my time and energy there was devoted to increasing the knowledge and wisdom of ACEM trainees in their preparation for Fellowship, an incredibly rewarding pursuit I’m not quite ready to give up…
